ALTHOUGH the Tour of Rwanda is a few months away, the National Cycling Federation (Ferwacy) has already drawn up a blueprint to make the race the biggest since its incorporation on the International cycling Union (UCI) calendar in 2009.On top of increasing the participating teams from 11 to 15 and inviting big media companies like T.V 5 Afrique and Canal Plus, Cycling boss Aimable Bayingana wants a local to win the country’s premier race."This year, the race is going to be bigger and more competitive. The number of teams has increased but our major focus, this year, is to have a Rwandan win the tour,” an expectant Bayingana said.Last year, Team Rwanda won the team category but Bayingana is desperate to have a Rwandan win the ultimate prize.Adrien Niyonshuti was in the thick of things until the sixth stage when he crashed to end his title aspirations.Meanwhile, three riders Gasore Hategeka, Nicodem Habiyambere and Hadi Janvier, have completed a two month cycling clinic at the Africa Continental Centre Training Camp in South Africa.
