The relevance of Beauty pageants in Universities is to give a chance to mostly girls to have a positive impact in society, and be role models to the other girls in the universities due to results they offer as well as the beauty they have.
The relevance of Beauty pageants in Universities is to give a chance to mostly girls to have a positive impact in society, and be role models to the other girls in the universities due to results they offer as well as the beauty they have. The same can apply for the boys who run for MR.What I have managed to do so far as a 2nd runner up, firstly I have united all ‘Miss’s’ of universities into one association known as Smile Rwanda. I have done this in partnership with Miss SFB 2011 and the 1st runner up. This association is aimed at empowering young girls to stand up for what they believe in, and as well promoting the culture of public speaking among the youth. The contestants I am training so far are so fast in learning and they are coping very easily because they are loving what they are doing. They are being trained in public speaking in order to enable them to answer wisely to the questions they will be asked by the judges. They are also being trained in cat walking that will enable them to show their elegance. The contestants have really changed. I can not say that they couldn’t express themselves in public but rather could say they didn’t really believe in themselves as they do now. I am sure they know their potential and there has been an effective change in the past.
