United Generation Basketball (UGB) star point-guard Espoir Aganze Bazihima has successfully returned to full recovery after a three-month injury lay-off.
The 22-year-old suffered a meniscus tear in December last year and underwent surgery which saw him miss the first round of the league.
He returns to action on Saturday when UGB play Espoir at STECOL Basketball ground in what will be his first match of the season.
"I have recovered. I feel healthy and strong. I am now ready to help my team,” the Congolese player told Times Sport.
"My goal, along with my teammates, is to finish the second round among the teams that will be in the playoffs,” he added.
Bazihima averaged 18 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game during the 2021/2022 season.
Friday’s 81-72 victory over IPRC-Kigali saw UGB keep their sixth place on the league table with 19 points. They are level on points with their Saturday’s opponents Espoir and Kigali Titans who sit fourth and fifth respectively.
Rwanda Energy Group (REG) lead the table with 21 points, followed by Patriots and APR, who sit second and third respectively, with 20 points each.
