Cranes coach keeps faith in APR duo

2013 Africa Nations’ Cup qualifierFeb. 29Congo Brazzaville vs UgandaCRANES coach Bobby Williamson has included the APR pair of Dan Wagaluka and Habib Kavuma in his provisional squad for the first leg of the 2013 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Congo Brazzaville next Wednesday.Kavuma and Wagaluka, who have become integral members of the Rwandan league champions, are part of the provisional 22-man squad, which will be slashed down to 18 on Monday.The army side also features nine players in the Amavubi squad that is preparing to take on Nigeria in a similar qualifier. These include Olivier Karekezi, Hegman Ngoma, Jean Baptista Mugiraneza, Albert Ngabo, Ismail Nshutiyamagara, Jean Claude Iranzi, Mbuyu Twite, Jean Luc Ndayishimiye and Jean Claude Ndoli.Williamson is also praying that Ibrahim Sekagya rescinds his retirement from the national side for atleast another year.Sekagya got Uganda on the wrong foot this week when he announced that he was quitting the Cranes.His decision, barely a week after a similar move by another defender Nestroy Kizito, came just nine days to Uganda’s opening qualifier for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.Cranes squad: Abel Dhaira (IBV), Dennis  Onyango (Mamelodi Sundowns), Ali Kimera (Victors), Simeon Masaba (URA), Denis Guma (Victoria  University), Ismail Kazibwe (Express),  Henry Kalungi (Proline), Isaac Isinde (St George), Hassan Wasswa (Kayseri), Godfrey Walusimbi (Bunna), Andy Mwesigwa (Ordabasy), Habib Kavuma (APR), Tonny Mawejje Golden Arrows), Musa Mudde (Sofapaka), Steven Bengo (Villa), Moses Oloya (Sai Gon XT), Patrick Ochan (TP Mazembe), Mike Sserumaga (St George), Martin Mutumba (AIK), Dan Wagaluka (APR), Brian Umony (Binh Duong), Geoffrey Massa, (Yenicami Agleden) and Geoffrey Sserunkuma (Vasco da Gama).
