Syrian Ministry of Health said Wednesday that the Arab and Western sanctions have caused some shortage in medical supplies in Syria.It meanwhile stressed that workers in the health sector are still rendering health services to all citizens within the available potentials. In messages sent to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations Security Council, and carried by state-run SANA news agency, the ministry said that it has paid special attention to the health sector, contrary to the " misleading and provocative” campaigns launched by some "suspicious groups.” "The government has ensured all appropriate health conditions for all Syrians to receive health care,” the ministry said.

It accused a number of foreign parties of "implicating the health sector in matters that have nothing to do with health conditions and using it as a tool in its war against Syria.”The ministry added that the "unjust” worldwide sanctions have caused some shortage in some medical supplies, blaming foreign parties, without naming them, for financing, arming and inciting " terrorist” groups to target the infrastructure in Syria.
