Every where I look I see something that I swear my great grand parents also flossed around the place decades back. Here are some examples of fashion back in the day re – born!The Converse All StarsAlso known as Chuck Taylor All Stars, these shoes are rubber and are produced by Converse. They were first produced in 1917. Chuck Taylor, a basketball player and shoe salesman for Converse redesigned the shoe and became the products representative in the 1920’s. Today, all you see on everybody’s feet are these All Star knockouts and they know no age.Skinny JeansJust like the All Star shoes, there is not a wardrobe in town that doesn’t have a pair of skinny jeans in it.  Incase you have no clue about what I am talking about, Slim-fit pants or skinny jeans as they are commonly referred to have a snug fit through the legs and end in a small leg opening. The style originated in the 1790’s. How’s that for old? Bell BottomsThese trousers are the exact opposite of skinny jeans and become wider from the knees downward. The precise origin of this trend is uncertain but in the 19th century became very fashionable for women especially. They went from high-fashion to become part of the hippie counter-culture movement. Today, both men and women don the look whether I office suits or denim. Shoulder PadsTo be honest, I have never really understood this look. Why would anyone want to look as if they were placed on a hanger? But it was there and now they are back and more vibrant than before.  This hanger -like fashion originated in the 1930’s and are a type of fabric covered used in men’s and women’s clothing to give the wearer the illusion of having broader shoulders. For men, shoulder pads are used in suits, jackets and overcoats. HatsForge about caps; I am talking about hats the size of Mars. I thought the only time such ridiculously big hats surfaced was goat races. I was dead wrong. Unlike the English who wear these pretty little hats to tea parties and fancy little get togethers (I think the Queen must own a gazillion of those things); some people take the hat craze to a whole other level. Their origin goes all the way back to the 16th century. As fashion progressed, so did the hats, in Colour, design and size. Now days, the bigger the hat, the better!The Checkered printCheck-patterned fabrics display bands in two or more Colours in woven cloth. Checks are traditionally associated with Scotland where woven dyed wool was, at one time, a principal cloth. The period in which this print became fashionable, however, is not certain. Today, checkered shirts, trousers and shoes are what’s up. Even the hilarious checkered trousers with suspenders look, daring move as it is, is slowly but surely making it’s way back.
