ISONGA chairman’s latest remarks over the contentious issue of fielding an ineligible player in last week’s Primus League 3-2 victory against AS Kigali could land the club in trouble. The youthful side fielded Solomon Nirisarike in that fixture yet the midfielder had finalised his switch to Belgian club Royal Antweerp.Augustin Munyandamutsa yesterday claimed AS Kigali did not follow the right channel."Before kick-off, captains of both sides meet to sort out any issues so AS Kigali should have raised the issue before kick-off and not after losing the match,” Munyandamutsa reasoned. But AS Kigali coach Andre Gasambugo, who also coached Sec Academy in the past, laughed off his former employer’s claims insisting that Nirisarike’s move to Royal Antweerp had even been confirmed by Ferwafa."Isonga sold Nirisarike to Royal Antweerp so they should not make up excuses,” the tough talking Gasambugo, said.On February 8, the local football governing body (Ferwafa) released a list of players who had finalized their transfers and Nirisarike was part of the list.Early this week, AS Kigali filed an official complaint to Ferwafa. The body promised to look into the matter although sources close to AS Kigali indicate that the club is ready to forward the case to CAF (Confederation of African Football) if Ferwafa investigations drag on.
