Tharcisse Shamakokera, RPF-Inkotanyi Member of Parliament representing Nyarugenge District, Kigali City passed away last night after a long illness. 

The 68-year old former secondary school teacher, Officer in charge of social affairs in the President’s Office, Officer in the General Secretariat of RPF- Inkotanyi and Deputy Secretary General in the Office of the Prime Minister in charge of Cabinet Affairs, held a Bachelors Degree in Linguistics. 

Speaking after receiving the sad news, Evariste Kalisa, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, said ""he has been ill for some time and he has been in hospital. We have also just been informed about this death.”

Born on the 10th, September 1944, he is survived by a wife, four children and numerous grandchildren.
