NONAS, a volleyball club made of former national team players used the old English adage of ‘old brooms know all corners’ as they defeated their younger opponents in the Imbuto foundation sponsored volleyball tournament to fight malaria.The old times club saw off Bralirwa with a three sets to nil win and also defeated a youthful Christ Roi secondary school volleyball club two sets to one.Indangaburezi secondary school won the girls’ fray after a 3-2 win over St. Josephs. The winning teams walked off with Rwf 350.000, while the runners-up and third placed teams got Rwf 0.2m and Rwf 150.000 respectively.Clement Ngoga, an official in Imbuto Foundation said the organization wants to fight malaria in the country by using sports."A healthy society is crucial in developing sports in the country. That is why our organization is putting money in sports to raise awareness about the fight of malaria.”Ngoga said.
