Liverpool is not yet home and dry

Dear editor,

I insist there is still a lot of work to be done before Liverpool secures a fourth place in the Barclays Premier League.

Before the Reds go to Fulham on Saturday it is not inconceivable to suggest the Blues could cut the gap to two points if they beat Chelsea at Goodison Park on Thursday, and Benayoun said it’s vital Liverpool finish fourth this season.

But there are still 12 points to be played for, so we have to make sure we do not lose concentration because if we do, Everton could close the gap.

We want to play in the Champions League because it is a competition we enjoy and to do that you have to make sure you finish in the top four.

Rafael Benitez’s side have been in irrepressible form of late and we all believe the shock FA Cup defeat at home to Barnsley has been the catalyst for the run that has seen them surge into the last four of the Champions League and edge closer to securing fourth place in the league.

We have got through to the semi-finals of the Champions League and hopefully win the champions league again. And all Liverpool fans should be happy now.
