The case file was submitted to Nyamabuye Primary Court for a hearing, but a date has yet to be set.
According to Faustin Nkusi, the National Public Prosecution Authority spokesperson, six suspects have been provisionally released, while the remaining six who are believed to have taken part in the murder remain in detention.
One of the suspects, Albert Dusabe, was shot and killed by security forces in Muhanga District on April 11th. Dusabe had previously confessed to killing Muhirwe after being hired for the hit job for a sum of Rwf300,000, of which he had received Rwf70,000 in advance payment.
He had been hired by a local businessman called Lambert Minani, who allegedly held a grudge against Muhirwe over a pharmaceutical equipment supply tender.
Minani was among the individuals who were provisionally released after being investigated by the prosecution, along with Zephrin Kubwimana, Marcel Kwitonda, Blaise Nkundimana, Alphonse Niyomugabo, and Fabiola Uwase.
