Orange Champions LeagueSaturdayTusker vs APRAPR’s goalkeeper Jean Luc Ndayishimiye a.k.a Bakame has been overlooked for Saturday’s Orange Champions League first leg against Tusker FC.Bakame, who made Amavubi’s provisional 30-man squad for this month’s 2013 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Nigeria, was not so lucky this time round. With a season dogged with injuries, APR head coach Ernie Brandts opted for Jean Claude Ndoli and Ramazan Nkuzingoma in goal."He has been out with injury and needs games to get back to top form,” Brandts said.Other players left out include Saint Preux Leonel (visa hitches), Ernest Kwizera and Kipson Atuheire.Brandts is, however, confident that the squad is strong enough to get a result in Nairobi."There is a lot of quality in the side and we are confident that we shall get the result we want in Nairobi,” the Dutchman said.Olivier Karekezi, who was part of the APR team which made it to the third round of the competition back in 2004, will captain the side. The Brazilian trio of Diego Oliveiro Alves, Douglas Lopes Carneiro and Alex de Avila Peixoto are also expected to make their debuts tomorrow. The team landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) yesterday evening aboard Rwandair and will have a training session this afternoon at Nyayo stadium, the venue for the match.APR is desperate to improve on a wobbly record in the competition.
