Editor,The rising incidents of poaching in the Greater Virunga Landscape are distressing. This is very disquieting as it would fundamentally affect the tourism industry if not addressed promptly.

The area is home to the endangered Mountain Gorilla that generates a lot of foreign revenue inflows.We need to sensitise communities surrounding game parks to steer clear of poaching activities. However, talking to them alone is not good enough. We must find for them alternative means to earn a living, for instance, setting up of diverse income generating projects.Anthony SeziberaMusanze
