Rayon Sports’ financial woes could become a thing of the past if the club agrees a sponsorship deal with Fina Bank and Tigo.According to the club’s part owner Albert Rudatsimburwa, negotiations over a sponsorship deal with the two corporate companies are in the final stages."We have held talks with both companies and I can confirm to you that a deal will be agreed very soon. We are also exploring ways of bringing more companies on board,” Rudatsimburwa told Times Sport by phone yesterday.Times Sport tried but could not get a comment from both Fina Bank and Tigo.Over the years, Rayon has been having financial difficulties and recently the club’s playing staff went on two day sit down strike after going two months without getting their pay.Despite having the largest fan base in the country, the Blues have failed to tap into that potential to woo sponsor largely due football politics and ineffectiveness in club management.Rayon is now five points behind league leaders Police in fourth position after a 2-0 win over Amagaju in Nyamagabe.Tumaine Ntamuhanga and Fuadi Ndayisenge scored the club’s goals. Coach Jean Marie Ntwgabirwa is still optimistic the club will end its six year trophy drought at the end of the season.
