It’s the month of February. The month that has been waited for since the year began and is always looked back upon throughout the year. February is the month we all prepare for and even after it’s long gone, there is always the anticipation of it coming around again next year. Valentine’s Day marks this beautiful month with a lot of love and happiness not only for those with significant others but for family and friends alike.Many people who have looked on this day with heavy hearts due to a past experience that has left them wanting nothing to do with the four letter word, or those who simply just do not care. Then they are those who have no emotion concerning it and it passes by as nothing special and the ones who group up to speak about it with bitterness. It is comprehensible, if we look back in history Valentine’s Day is the day St. Valentine died. He was nowhere near the loving person we hold this day in high regard for, and many women felt an ease when he had passed on. How the day became one where we celebrate the beauty of love is still, however, unclear. But since it is let us carry on the spirit.However, many people disagree with the placing of just one day to tell the ones we care about just how much we love them. This should be done everyday, every minute, every hour. Joyce Meyer, a re-known female evangelist came up with the phrase LOL- LOVE OUT LOUD. She emphasized on the importance of it. I am one of the people that find it hard to express myself. It becomes difficult for me to say, ‘I care’ or I really appreciate that’, maybe Valentine’s day was made for just for me. I know I ma not the only one having problems with this. We have been raised in a computer age, speeded up world where time has become money and people no longer are people but have become business opportunities. I decided to turn a new page and start a new chapter, and not just because this is the valentine month. I am changing my theme to LOL- LOVE OUT LOUD.It has been said before, time and time again. We have read about it, talked about it, sang about, many movies have been made but it never finds its way into the heart of us. This is the month to turn around and become someone better. Tell that special someone just what is on your mind. Leave a note for that girl you have been trying to talk to since valentine last year. Buy your mother a box of chocolates and hug your father. Let this be the beginning of a new age, the age of love. But be sure to remember to keep a little reserve for yourself. Show you, just how much you care about you. Tell yourself how worthy you are and give yourself a pat on the back.Let’s not make this about us but about going out there and spreading a gift that God gave us that will never, ever become old no matter how many times we give it away. It’s the best birthday gift, Christmas gift and works well on thanksgiving. Wear a smile and LOL this month and everyday for the rest of the year.
