In the heart of Kimihurura, African bite, is ideal, as the name might suggest, for African specialties. The restaurant looks more like someone’s home situated in a green garden.

The interior is decorated with African artistic pieces and fabrics. Soft background music gives the place an air of relaxation.

The dining area is made up of several small rooms, so for those looking for privacy, you’re sure to find an ideal spot.
The venue is busy at lunch as it attracts a lot of clients from nearby offices. Get there early if you want the buffet to be looking its best.

African Bite goes truly African with a wide range of regional dishes from western Uganda, Rwandan, and Congo. All main courses such as chicken and fish fillets range between Frw2,500 and Frw3,500 and clients can choose between side dishes of rice or posho.

Food is simple and tasty while service, unlike so many Kigali restaurants is utterly charming. In keeping with the African style, waiters and waitresses serve with a true feeling of African pride.

Special African dishes are recommended for different days. Friday evening is brochette and nyama choma, Saturday is designated for ‘luwombo’ (banana leaves) dishes and ‘Eshabwe’ a western Uganda dish, while Sunday is for Rwanda ‘kisafuliya’ (mixture). Dishes are always prepared just in time for lunch or supper and are all served in African pots.

The venue lacks enough packing space for clients’ vehicles. Worse still, they are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. However, it is win win for lovers of African food and those looking for a more authentic experience.

Within the locality who seem impressed with the African style of service, delicacy and appearance. It also has rooms to care for clients who need privacy but with an African touch.

When it comes to customer care, there are truly responsive in their African design attires to give continuity to the African pride.
