Editor, I read with dismay yesterday’s edition of The New Times that “80% of cases at CESTRAR involve unlawful dismissal”. The issue raises serious concern and I hope that the relevant bodies will address these accordingly.
Editor,I read with dismay yesterday’s edition of The New Times that "80% of cases at CESTRAR involve unlawful dismissal”. The issue raises serious concern and I hope that the relevant bodies will address these accordingly. It is a fact that while some employers are tolerant and treat their workers well, others torment them. Some employers treat workers in total disregard of laws governing employment. The Ministry of Public Service and Labour must ensure that all workers are treated well and their working conditions improve. CESTRAR should set up clear rules to ensure that those illegally fired are reinstated.Another woeful issue is that of poor salaries and recruitment. I remember that during the civil servants’ restructuring process carried out in 2009, several employees were victimised. They were only reinstated after the Public Service Commission discovered the anomaly. Nathan BugingoKimihurura
