Editor,On my first visit to Rwanda in 2009, I was welcomed to my friend’s small pre-school in Gaculiro by the voices of very small children singing traditional Rwandan songs. It was an experience that totally overwhelmed me and brought me to tears. I videotaped those wonderful children singing and dancing and it still makes me smile whenever I watch the videos. The Intore Dancers also made a huge impression. They literally make the ground shake and even if I don’t understand the words to the songs, the performance tells the story. I am so happy to hear that the culture is being cherished so much in Rwanda!Marie CollinsWinnipeg, Canada
