Editor,Allow me to respond to a story that appeared in The New Times, last week regarding Rwandan students who fail to return home after their studies abroad. In the main, vast funds are spent on them as part of the national economic development. Such people are expected to play a pivotal role in the country’s economic development agenda upon their return.To halt the practice, the government ought to put in place mechanisms to ensure that such students work in the country for a period of not less than five years. Otherwise, it is indefensible for anyone to exploit the country’s meagre resources to meet his/her selfish ends.Edwin MukizaKanombe
