Musanze, the largest town in Northern Province, is striving to establish itself as a leading conference destination, with authorities hopeful that it will soon start hosting international events.
As a gateway to various tourist attractions, including mountain gorillas, caves, volcanoes, and luxury hotels, the district is an ideal location for such meetings.

Moreover, with advanced infrastructure and conference facilities under development, Musanze is poised to attract conferences and meetings from all over the world.
The Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Development, Andrew Rucyahana Mpuhwe, said that the district is working with all stakeholders to turn the city into a hub for local, regional, and international conferences. "We want to make our city an international conference hub after Kigali City," he added.
Many hotel operators in the district are already seeing an increase in interest from people and companies who want to hold their conferences in Musanze.
As part of the initiative, hotels and facilities are being upgraded and renovated, with many planning to expand their events space. Valentin Ngabonzima, the manager of Home Inn Hotel, said that they are upgrading their halls to host bigger events and meetings, while Jean Marie Vianney Tuyisenge, the owner of Musanze Caves, is planning to add more high-standard services to his hotel.

However, residents like Innocente Umuhire believe that inspection and mobilization are crucial to ensuring that these hotels and guest houses deliver good services at high standards.
Musanze has already hosted a three-day international business forum called the Kingdom Business Forum in November 2022. The forum brought together over 60 economic experts from South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, the United States of America, and Rwanda to discuss business opportunities, investments, and networking.
Musanze district authorities believe that with the right infrastructure, facilities, and security, the town's vision to become a center for excellent tourism can become a reality. With its numerous tourist attractions and upgraded facilities, Musanze is fast becoming a destination of choice for local, regional, and international conferences.
