Last weekend’s quarter finals second leg matches saw four teams eliminated as four others progressed to the Big Four mini league which will decide who gets promoted to the top flight league and who stays in the second division next season.

Congolese Papi Falunga Fataki was the hero as his brace helped Amagaju FC successfully overcome 1-0 first leg deficit to knock AS Muhanga out of the quarter finals and advance to the mini league with a 2-1 victory on aggregate.

Fataki opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of the first half before the striker doubled Amagaju’s lead in the 74th minute to single-handedly eliminate AS Muhanga and keep his team’s Premier League promotion hopes.

Etoile de l’Est also beat Intare FC 3-0 at Ngoma Stadium to advance to the mini league by 7-1 aggregate win in both legs.

Gicumbi FC’s 2-1 away win over Ivoire Olympique in the first leg was enough for them to go through to the next round despite being held to a goalless draw at Gicumbi Stadium on Sunday.

Vision FC joined Amagaju, Etoile de l’Est ad Gicumbi in the mini league after eliminating Nyanza FC with a 6-2 victory on aggregate.

The team secured their ticket to the next round after beating Nyanza FC 4-1 in Sunday’s second leg encounter held at Mumena Stadium.

The four finalists will play between them during the mini league after which the top two teams will be promoted to the Rwanda Premier League.
