Beauty contests have been a guiding light for beautiful women all over the world. However, they have also paused questions to the spectators. Are beauty queens really beauty queens? Is there beauty only on the outside or the inside as well? Are beauty queens beautiful anyway? Read on to find out…There is a saying that goes, "Everything that glitters is not gold”, and the same goes for beauty queens. They shine on the outside but rarely in the inside. Here are some of the stereotypes against these beauty queens:Lack of direction in lifeMany think they are airheads and that they lack direction in life. They try so hard to make their lives meaningful courtesy of their beauty. Truthfully, they are the type that rarely believe hard work pays in the end. Their beauty is their only way to a good life or fortune to be exact. If they got a scratch, they would do anything to get rid of it in the quickest time possible. It’s all about the face and the respect they can command with those exotic looks. They are beauties, they are outstanding so they should be respected; at least that is what they think. Gold diggersThey do live life in fast lane and believe that with their beauty nothing can go wrong. But you see, to date such a girl, one must be "super loaded”. If you can’t spend over RWF 200,000 a night then you can’t dine with them or even simply get their phone number! That’s what it’s like to be beautiful and so many men have fallen for them. Furthermore, if you do not own fancy cars, a ten storied mansion and a personal 5 star chef, you can’t even get to say hi to a beauty queen! Unfair, isn’t it?Best actressesBeauty queens are the best actresses of all time if I may say so. They always play "Miss Generous” when they see core qualities like "money”. To put it correctly, they will flaunt charity organizations every chance they get and give the impression that they are bighearted. It is one way to get good things closer to them. They will be sweet and blow you away with that mega watt smile but only to get what they want. That’s who they are. Lack of education This is actually one of the most common stereotypes about beauty queens. Most people out there believe that these beauty queens are with a doubt impenetrable. Most of them don’t have a good education background, some dropped out of school to model or participate in a beauty contest. The last time I saw a beauty contest in Rwanda, some contestants could hardly even explain themselves or answer the simplest of questions. A few however have attained a university degree but don’t take it seriously since their beauty does it for them. Furthermore, they hide their true looks under heavy coats of makeup and are always thin since it’s what’s in nowadays. Those are the most common stereotypes you will ever come across.
