Young people have been challenged to avoid activities that might divert their vision and instead model their lives on Rwandan heroes.The call was made by Kigali City Mayor, Fidele Ndayisaba, during an interview with The New Times regarding yesterdays’ Heroes Day celebrations, organised under the theme. "Let’s strive for heroism as we fight child abuse”He said the youth are the backbone of the country and should be well advised and prepared as the next heroes of the country.Marie Grace Umurerwa, a Rwandan currently living in Canada, observed that heroes are not only those who died.."We read a story of a Rwandan policeman who returned US$40,000 dollars he found at the airport .We read it in the New York Times. I think such people should also be considered as heroes in Rwanda,” she advised.
