It was an evening to remember as fashion was on everybody’s lips at an event that attracted various guests at the Kigali Serena Hotel, over the weekend.

The event dubbed "C-Munwangari Collections Fashion Show” began at 8:15p.m, with a performance by a cultural troupe from Burundi which put up a great performance.

The performance was followed by a welcoming speech by Cynthia Munwangari, the proprietor of C-Munwangari Collections.

A fashion show by various groups including Fedelity Collections, Alga, Izuki Designers crowned by a sensational display of fashion by the C-Munwangari collection was unique and outstanding.

The show brought together designers who displayed unique outfits, some of which included African cultural outfits and beautifully designed styles; it was an inspiration and real display of style.

The audience was cheered up by local musician Dr. Claude, who put up a great performance that left the crowd screaming for more.

Radio 10’s Herve and Makeda from C-FM were the evening hosts as they too entertained the revellers with rib-cracking jokes.

"I have liked the way the event was organised, especially how they have incorporated modern styles into our local fashion,” Carol Rugege says.

"The display of fashion, the cultural dance and my favorite –Dr. Claude’s performance were all perfect,” John Yves Mbonyintore commented.

The show ended with more performance by Dr. Claude, and the after party at Cadillac discotheque.

The "C-Munwangari Collections Fashion Show” was organised by Cobra Productions, and sponsored by Rwandair, Cogebanque, Kigali Serena Hotel, Cappuccino Food Bar, Top Tower Hotel and Radio 10.

Speaking a news  before the show, the 21-year-old Burundian fashion designer, Munwangari noted that the reason she brought her collections to Rwanda was because she believes it is advanced in the fashion industry.

"I have brought my collections to showcase them in Rwanda because I believe Rwanda is ahead in fashion compared to Burundi,” Munwangari explained.

"It was also easy for me to showcase my collections in Rwanda, because Rwanda and Burundi share a lot in common and also because our countries are neighbours,” she added.

The models, who took part in the "C-Munwangari Collections Fashion Show”, were from Burundi, Rwanda and Kenya among others.

The former model said that after showcasing her designs in Rwanda, she would also take them to other East African countries.
