AMAVUBI are likely not to play any build-up match ahead of next month’s 2013 Africa Nations Cup first leg qualifier against Nigeria.
Initially, the wasps were expected to play a friendly against Congo Brazzaville’s Red Devils next week but it has now been confirmed that the tie has been postponed to November 14.
In a letter addressed to Ferwafa (Rwanda Football Federation), the Secretary General of the Congolese FA Badji Mombo Wantete conceded that the timing was not right.
"It’s going to be very difficult for us to get hold of our players on such short notice but November 14 is ideal for us,” the letter read in part.
Ferwafa have now turned to Egypt for a friendly ahead of the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
Rwanda eased into the group stages of the qualifiers after a comfortable 3-1 home victory over Eritrea.
The result meant that Amavubi qualified 4-2 on aggregates to join Algeria, Mali and Benin in Group H.
