Editor,
Allow me to respond to a story that appeared in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled "Top RDF officers suspended.”
I have lived in Rwanda for more than ten years now, and I can attest to the fact that there is no one who is above the law.
The RDF, in particular, has a longstanding reputation of unwavering discipline and values of integrity, so much any slight breach is likely to call for action.
The story about suspension and subsequent house arrest of the senior officers further demonstrates the ethos on which the institution as well as country, is built.
The message is very clear; that everybody must act within the confines of the law and whoever deviates will be punished regardless of their status or position in society.
