Junior Wasps’ midfielder Ibrahim Itangishyaka will spend another six months on sidelines undergoing rehabilitation following a successful knee operation, ten days ago.

Richard Tardy, U-17 & U-20 coach told Sunday Sport yesterday that, "He had a successful operation in France and he will spend three more weeks in Clairefontaine before coming back to Rwanda,”

"He is a good player and he has been given six months to fully recover. We hope, he will return back in good time for the Africa youth championship qualifiers,” added Tardy.

Tardy further added that they are working on how Amavubi’s gilded midfielder Andrew Buteera can also have a knee operation in France this year so as to help him get back on track for his career.

Buteera hobbled out of last year’s Cecafa Tusker Challenge Cup final against Uganda after suffering a lateral meniscus partial tie in his right knee.

The injury will rule out Buteera from Rwanda's 2013 Africa Nations Cup first leg qualifier against Nigeria.

The match, which will be played in Kigali, is slated for February 29.

Both Itangishyaka and Buteera were part of Rwanda's squad which took part in the 2011 Fifa U-17 World Cup in Mexico.
