I just can never help falling in love the Premier League. When the season had just began, it was impossible to even think of a Man City side being humbled in two consecutive games, something that happened recently, when they lost to Manchester United in the FA Cup and then to Liverpool in the first leg of the Carling Cup.

Now Roberto Mancini, the manager of Man City has already started to show signs of weakness by stating that his star studded side lacks depth! What an excuse? What with such an array of talented players as Aguerro, Balotelli, Kompany and Joe Hart?

Here is what most people forget. Money can buy you a few trophies but it can never buy you a permanent foundation for success. That is why teams like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Juventus are simply successful.

Success did not come overnight; it took them along time. They went through the hustles of being broke, threatened with relegation and humiliating losses until they finally built a foundation for future success. That is why players love to play for these clubs.

I highly doubt if Man City players feel affection for the club. They are simply mercenaries and are being treated as such, while Mancester United players are more of a family. It is not just the quality of the players that bring about a team success, but the commitment, the sense of belonging, the x-factor United holds over City.
