Again, it is not their fault. I just want to look into the lives of the people whose bank accounts never seem to get fatigued– on the contrary; it is the exact opposite. As people weep and wail (and even possibly riot) because of the financial situation that hits in January, these lucky people are too busy probably depositing more money.

Some wealthy man whose name I won’t mention said that wealth was not for the faint hearted. It comes with a lot of risks and stress and so on. And maybe he’s right; but to be perfectly honest, I’d be more comfortable stressing in a Bentley than on a bicycle or even worse –on my polite walk home!
Have you ever been forced to break your own piggy bank? I have a friend who always makes it a point to save coins as often as he can but somehow when January comes, the poor box is smashed to pieces. It’s not that the coins will do anything seriously constructive but then again, what people won’t do when they are broke?
Then while my poor friend is busy hitting away at his wooden piggy bank, some ‘pal’ is in his house wondering where to order lasagna as he waits for his new car to be delivered! And they say life is fair? Okay let me be fair and say some people work hard for their money and don’t just sit around waiting for things to be done. But that’s just some.
We were all born on different tides. What I mean is, you could be born with a silver spoon in your mouth and lose everything in the blink of an eye. You could be born in the poorest of homes but make your mark in the world later. You could be born with that silver spoon and stay with it forever shoved into your mouth till the day you die or you could just be born poor and stay poor till – well that is fate I guess.
Oprah for example wasn’t born and wrapped in satin sheets. But right now she is one of the wealthiest people alive. Don’t you wonder if she has seen a broke day in her life (well at least after she got rich that is)? Seriously, like does she even worry about cash power (do they call it that there?), does she worry about how a soda rose by a cent or two? Things like that.
It’s not her fault but you can’t help but envy the woman. What people like Microsoft founder Bill Gates call piggy banks, we call actual banks! It is very depressing. I know some people insist that hard work is all you need but I still insist on destiny or fate…whatever it is. It is just not in the cards for everyone to be wealthy no matter how hard working a person can be.
All we can do is sit back and thank God for what we do have. It could be worse- you could be sleeping under a bridge! We should be happy for our very loaded brothers and sisters and stop whining about having black tea and stale bread for dinner. It’s hard I know –especially when the rich neighbor is always passing your one roomed apartment with bags from Nakumatt- in January moreover!!!!!!!
