Senate president, Dr. Jean Damascene Ntawukuriryayo, yesterday met with several members of the Rwandan Diaspora and encouraged them to play an active role in national development.
The delegation led by their vice president, Sylvestre Matata, tabled some of their concerns to the head of the Senate requesting for his advocacy.
"Some of the concerns that were tabled include establishing a partnership between foreign and local universities, others requested for assistance to extend their studies and individual concerns,” reads a statement from Parliament.
Ntawukuriryayo promised assistance from his office and advocacy to ensure that all issues are addressed.
"However, I also, in turn, encourage you to play a hand in national development initiatives. Collective efforts by all of us are needed towards the development of our country,” Ntawukuriryayo told them.
