Editor,

The proliferation of drug trafficking within the country is rather perturbing. Media reports indicate that police, over the weekend, intercepted an estimated 200 kilogrammes of cannabis destined for Kigali and another haul of illicit brew commonly known as Kanyanga.

In order to totally eradicate the vice in society, we should not leave the fight to police alone. Like all responsible citizens, we should play a role by reporting to authorities any suspicious activities and probable drug dealers and users.

As parents, we can also protect the youth by giving them advice on the dangers associated with drug abuse. Let’s all be vigilant to curb this growing habit that threatens the well being of society structures and harmony.
