Isaac Muganza scored the lone goal of the game in the second half to help his side jump out of relegation zone with four points to 11th position in four matches they have played so far.
The youthful side which was drafted into this year’s league to help the youngsters gain experience, will engage in qualifiers for the Africa Youth Championship set to begin mid this year.
Newly promoted Nyanza, who has lost five matches out of the eight played are reported to be on the verge of sacking their head coach Abdul Mbarushimana.
The Primus league resumes on January 14 with defending champion APR hosting La Jeunesse at Mumena; Etincelles playing away to AS Kigali at Nyamirambo stadium while Amagaju will battle it out against Nyanza in Nyamagabe.
Kiyovu will travel to Rubavu for a date against Marines as Mukura hosts Espoir at Kamena. On January 15, Rayon Sports will host Police at Amahoro stadium.
Mukura leads the Primus league standings with 20 points while Espoir and Nyanza are struggling in the relegation zone with four and three points respectively.
