The country’s football body, Ferwafa, has pardoned SC Kiyovu midfielder Hussein Sibomana and now the player can join the team ahead of the 2013 Africa Nations’ Cup qualifier against Nigeria due on February 29 in Kigali.

According to Ferwafa Secretary General, Michel Gasingwa, the player wrote to the federation asking to be pardoned after he skipped Amavubi’s call without valid explanation.

"He has been pardoned and given trust by head coach Sredojovic ‘Micho’ Milutin, which means he can be considered for Amavubi’s friendly matches this week,” said Gasingwa on Ferwafa’s website.

Sibomana last played for Amavubi against Benin in October during the final Group H’s 2012 Africa Nations’ Cup qualifier as well as the 2014 World Cup two-legged qualifier against Eritrea.

He then went to DR Congo without informing even his club SC Kiyovu. He snubbed Amavubi’s call for Cecafa Tusker Challenge Cup held in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.

Rwanda finished runners up after losing 2-3 on penalties after a 2-all draw against Uganda Cranes.

With youngster Andrew Buteera out with  knee injury which needs an operation, Sibomana will be a key figure in heart of Amavubi team when Rwanda hosts Nigeria in the first leg of the 2013 Africa Nations’ Cup qualifier.
