As the new telecoms operator, the firm announced that Marcellin Paluku will act as its Country Manager.
The appointment can be interpreted to mean that MTN and TIGO will have to reposition accordingly in order to keep watch over their shoulders in order to keep their market shares intact.
Last year, saw MTN’s unrivalled position being subjected to serious threats by Tigo. The two companies will definitely find themselves being seriously challenged by Bharti during the course of the new year, if Bharti’s entry tactics in other parts of East Africa is anything to go by.
