APR midfielder Migi out for two months

APR and Amavubi Stars midfielder Jean Baptist Mugiraneza a.k.a Migi has been ruled out for two month with an ankle injury. The injury rules the player out of APR’s forthcoming CAF Champions League preliminary round clash with Kenya’s Tusker FC.

The leggy midfielder injured his during APR’s Primus league encounter with Amagaju last week. The match ended in a 1-all draw. Yumba Kayite scored for Amagaju and Ndikumana Selman scored for APR.

"My ankle is not feeling good, I feel a lot of pain but the (team) doctor is giving me treatment and I hope to return to training as quickly as possible,” Migi told Times Sport on Saturday.

"I being told that I may be out for two month or slightly more but I’ll be ok and hope to come back a stronger player,” he noted.

Until his latest injury, the former Kiyovu star has been a key player APR and Amavubi, playing in every single game for both club and country last year.

H e will miss Amavubi’s three friendly matches and the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Nigeria’s Super Eagles on February 29 as well as APR’s Primus league matches with La Jeunesse on January 14, Nyanza on 21and the big one against high-flying Police FC on February 11.

APR’s long injury list includes midfielder Didier Rogba, who will miss the rest of season after going under the surgeon’s knife on his knee, striker Ernest Kwizera won’t be available for at least three weeks. Defender Mbuyu Twite and goalkeeper Jean Claude Ndoli are all struggling with injuries.
