Rwanda Investment and Export Promotion Agency (Riepa) has signed an export promotion partnership agreement with a Dutch government agency for promoting imports from developing countries (CBI).

The agreement was signed Friday last week between Francis Gatare, the director general of Riepa and Shinta Oosterwaal, CBI programme manager for institutional development.

The move is to supplement on Riepa’s export promotion efforts by boosting the country’s exports to the European market.

Gatare said Riepa will be provided with necessary institutional skills to enable it replicate and independently adjust its strategies and operations with regards to high quality service delivery on export promotion to the European Union.

"The partnership will also see CBI generate and provide relevant market information about European markets and its accessibility, which is vital for the ambitious Rwandan business community," Gatare added.

He added that the market information provided by CBI will be attached to other trade information and published on the newly launched information centre – trade point Rwanda.
