As I lay on my bed, I thought about this whole resolution thing. Just before the year starts, one gets a diary and steadily notes what they want to accomplish in the New Year.

Resolutions depend on one’s needs and wants. They could be financial, economical, political, social or even emotional. As women, we should make resolutions that are beneficial to us. For those who are wives and mothers the resolutions made are supposed to benefit the family as a whole and not just individuals.

If this year has not been what you wanted it to be in your relationship as a wife, as a mother or even as a friend then maybe resolutions have not been met. Think about how to rectify it this coming year so as to make your relationships better.

The most important thing is to jot down what you think you should accomplish in the New Year while thinking of how to succeed in doing so. Before you butt an eyelid, the year will be half way gone, and the question will be ‘what have I achieved so far’?

Women, especially mothers, should strive to live up to their resolutions because the family depends on them. It doesn’t have to be financially. Women are the backbone of the family.

It is always good to try and live up to these resolutions. It creates some kind of joy to see someone achieve what they had planned within a given time. This shows that you really honored the resolutions.

Women should have self discipline in everything they do and bear in mind that they have something to achieve and then work extremely hard to attain that goal.

Resolutions are usually set according to priority. What is needed the most is always the first on the list and then the rest follow.  Try not to blow them out of proportion and set something realistic.

As women, let us make the resolutions that we can live up to and achieve our goals for the good of our relationships.

Happy New year to all the ladies!
