It was unfortunate to read that Nyagatare District registered the highest cases of malaria compared to other districts. This is disappointing because the country has registered remarkable success in curbing malaria infections.

This probably shows that Nyagatare District is not doing enough to fight the disease.

Although malaria remains the number one killer in Africa, Rwanda had managed to put in place various mechanisms to reduce infection rates.

For example, parents need to know that sleeping under treated mosquito nets is paramount,  

Recently, the latest global figures had showed that malaria deaths in the country had dropped by 70 percent, between 2005 and 2010. We cannot afford to sit back and relax.
