The local football body, Ferwafa has named Amavubi Stars assistant coach Antoinne Rutsindura to represent Rwanda at the two-day CAF workshop set for April 21-23 in Cairo, Egypt.
Rutsindura is expected to attend the workshop organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for head coaches of the 53-affiliated national associations as part of its efforts towards developing the game.
The Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa confirmed the development on Friday.
Kalisa said, "After the Josip Kuze was offered another coaching job in Japan, Amavubi head coach post has not been stable with a perfect coach. We have decided to send Rutsindura to stand for the team”.
Rutsindura has been put in charge of the Amavubi Stars along with Jean Marie Ntagwabira and Thomas Higiro as the search for new head coach rages on.
The objective of the workshop is to review the 26th MTN Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana 2008, and also identify key challenges in the pursuit of developing African football.
Egypt won the tournament for a record sixth-time after beating Cameroon 1-0 in the final.
The two-day workshop will also attract experts from the world soccer governing body, FIFA and UEFA.
According to the CAF website, the continental body’s Director of Football Development, Abdel Moneim Hussein said "having diversified opinions are essential elements in shaping the future of African football, especially with those who have the responsibility to prepare a team for its success and failure”
It is the third edition of the series, which saw Ghana in 2004 and Morocco 2006.
