In a move to prevent road accidents as a result of drunk driving, Bralirwa, has launched the second phase of its strategy to promote responsible drinking.

The head of corporate affairs at Bralirwa, Freddy Nyangezi said the programme, which started last year, aims to sensitize the public on the need to avert accidents due to over consumption of alcohol.

"We want people to drink but do it in a way that does not affect them. And by doing this, we are preventing or trying to change the mindset of some people who believe they can drink to the extent of losing control,” Nyangezi said.

Addressing the media, Chief Inspector of Police, Alphonse Busingye, commended Braliwa for the step it’s taken adding that last year’s campaign made a positive impact on reducing road accidents. He explained that it was the responsibility of every road user to respect each user and take full responsibility in order to avoid accidents.
