The national basketball federation will elect a new president early February, according to the Secretary General Lucien Mugabo.

Former Hoops Boss Eric Kalisa Salongo resigned last month after citing personal reasons for his departure. Kalisa still had two years left to his term.

Mugabo told this paper yesterday that the Federation’s General Assembly will sit in early February to among other things elect a new president, vice president and legal adviser.

"The basketball season will climax in late January, so that is when we shall set a date for the general assembly, which will in turn hold elections to fill in the vacant posts,” Mugabo said.

Kalisa’s resignation was the last in a spate of resignations this year that started with former Ferwafa President Jean Bosco Kazura, C.E.O Jules Kalisa, Athletics Boss Ntare Gerald, Basketball vice president Pierre Munyengabe and legal Advisor Shema Maboko.
