People interested in Rwanda will now be able to download the ‘Discover Rwanda’ magazine and its Dutch version ‘Ontdek Rwanda’, as an App (application) on the popular iPhone smart phone and iPad computer.
The App will contain information on investment and trade possibilities in Rwanda.
It offers reading and browsing material for people interested in the country’s culture, nature, history and geography. The first issue offers content like ‘Rwanda, the green heart of Africa’, ‘The Geological history of the area’, ‘Volcanoes National Park’, ‘Akagera National Park’, ‘Nyungwe Forest National Park’, ‘Rwanda’s major lakes’.
Buyers of the Rwanda-app will receive regular updates with relevant news about the country.
The App, which has been available on the online Apple Store since December 6, follows in the footsteps of the magazine itself, which was launched in September during the Rwanda Investment Seminar held in the Netherlands.
"The goal of this initiative is to have a modern and up-to-date publication about Rwanda available to anyone interested in the country,” Immaculée Uwanyiligira, the Ambassador of Rwanda in The Hague said.
"These applications last for a long time and this is a great platform for Rwanda to avail those interested in business and tourism information. It is a popular platform used by various business people and tourists worldwide,” Eric Rugamba, an official at the Rwandan embassy at The Hague, told The New Times.
"These applications will play a big role in positioning Rwanda and stamping its name in the world of technology”.
