According to Nigerian local media, Coach Stephen Keshi released the list of a 30-man squad on Friday.
Keshi said the local players will serve as the bedrock of the Super Eagles in the qualifying series for the Nations Cup, adding that the technical crew is ready to bridge the gap between the local and foreign based Eagles to motivate the home-based players to play for the nation.
"Keshi, however, expressed confidence in the ability of the local stars to establish their presence in the team, adding that the only thing that has been dragging local players back in the past is denial of playing time in the team.
Any invited Super Eagles player that fails to turn up at the team’s camp in Abuja by today will only have himself to blame as Keshi has vowed to wield the hammer on all defaulters.
The Eagles’ Camp is set to be on till January 16 as it would provide him and the players the opportunity to meet and train as part of the build up to the qualifiers.
"We must prepare very well and blend as a team before Rwanda. We still have time and I am sure by the time we allow the players to go back their clubs, we would have achieved a lot,” the coach said.
