The Sudanese envoy noted this shortly after paying a courtesy call on Defence Minister, James Kabarebe.
"Our visit comes in the framework of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. I am just starting my courtesy calls on ministers and we really appreciate the fact that Rwanda has decided to put some troops to Sudan,” Ambassador Walli said.
"We believe that Rwanda is a partner of peace building in Sudan. And we are grateful for that and we really appreciate the role played by Rwanda”.
The country maintains over 3,000 peace keeping troops in Sudan’s volatile western region of Darfur under the auspices of the African Union/United Nations Hybrid operation in Darfur (UNAMID).
Lt. Gen. Patrick Nyamvumba, from Rwanda, is UNAMID’s overall Force Commander.
