KIGALI - Profemmes Twesehamwe has awarded a certificate of merit to SNV Rwanda in recognition of the technical and financial services the Dutch agency has provided to the organization and other groups in the country.

"We particularly benefited from the strong support of Nzambazamariya Veneranda who is a Programme Coordinator of SNV Rwanda, as well as the National Coordinator of Réseau des Femmes and one of the founders of Profemmes,” said Suzanne Ruboneka, the Coordinator of Profemmes Action for Peace Programme.

SNV Rwanda supported Profemmes in developing and implementing Campagne Action pour la Paix (Action campaign for peace) and in its daily activities such as planning, monitoring, evaluation and creation of partnerships for peace.

Profemmes, is a recipient of the ‘Merit Prize for Peace and Tolerance’ from Unesco and International Alert, for its peace and conflict resolution programmes. It has since grown from a group of 13 members to a consortium of 50 women associations.

SNV Rwanda Country Director Jean de Matha Ouedraogo thanked Profemmes for recognizing their support, adding: "SNV now concentrates more on capacity building at district level by supporting local capacity builders rather than providing funds for projects.”
