KHI receives continental award

KARONGI – Kigali Health Institute (KHI), last week, received the Le Matinal Educational Excellence Award as the best healthcare educational institute in Africa. The institution was honoured at a ceremony in Mauritius.

KARONGI – Kigali Health Institute (KHI), last week, received the Le Matinal Educational Excellence Award as the best healthcare educational institute in Africa.

The institution was honoured at a ceremony in Mauritius.

KHI was recognised for innovation, academic and leadership interface as well as moulding future leaders.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Dr R.L. Bhatia, the founder Le Matinal Educational Excellence Awards, hailed the institution for its contribution to society advancement.

"Our endeavour is to promote quality education through rewarding exemplary people and institutions,” he noted.

The award is the highest honour to individuals and institutions that have surpassed several levels of excellence and emerged as role models.

Dr Chantal Kabagabo, the acting Rector of KHI, commended the Africa-India Partnership Summit for having selected the institution for the award.

"The award is a motivation to keep on doing more in training qualified health professionals for Rwanda,” she said.

Kabagabo reiterated that the institute is committed to offering efficient health education, especially in the dental and physiotherapy departments.
