APR will continue their preparation for next year’s Orange Champions League with two friendlies next month.
The club’s Secretary General Adolphe Kalisa yesterday revealed that they are scheduled to play Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and Haruna Niyonzima’s Yanga.
The army side, who trounced fellow Primus League side AS Kigali 2-0 in Thursday’s friendly, will play Kenyan champions Tusker FC in the preliminary round of the lucrative competition.
"We want to play against regional teams because our first tie is against Tusker FC of Kenya,” Kalisa said, adding that the exact dates would be confirmed later.
Last year, APR succumbed to a first round exit after losing 6-2 on aggregates against Tunisia’s Club Africain. The sides drew 2-all in the first leg but the Tunisians ran riot in the return leg putting four past a hapless APR side and giving Ernie Brandts a taste of what the competition is all about.
