SC KIYOVU coach Jean Baptist Kayiranga has urged his side to reach the group stages of next year’s Orange Confederation Cup.
The green baggies will open their campaign against Tanzania’s Simba in the preliminary first round. Kiyovu will host the Tanzanians before heading to Dar es Salaam for the return leg.
Despite the odds being against his side, Kayiranga has urged his players to wrestle their way to the group stages.
"First, we have to reach the next round and to do that, we have to eliminate Simba. This is a new challenge for the boys but they are professional enough to cope with the competitiveness of the tournament,” a confident Kayiranga said.
To achieve his target, Kayiranga has revealed that he will reinforce the squad before the competition.
Meanwhile, Simba will use the upcoming Mapinduzi Cup to prepare for the Confederation Cup.
The winner between Simba and SC Kiyovu will go on to play Algeria’s Es Setif in the next round.
