Isonga vs Amagaju
Isonga Football cCub coach Vincent Mashami is optimistic his club can finish in the top 10 clubs in the Primus National Football League.
The club is comprised of former U-17 national team players, who graduated to an U-20 side, that was put in the top tier division in September to keep the players together, while having them play competitive matches to keep them in shape.
The side that is being sponsored by Media com, as well as other sponsors like Inyange has been training for the last two weeks at Ferwafa artificial turf.
"The league is starting a bit late for us but we don’t want to use that as an excuse. Although we are a young and inexperienced team, our target is to do well. A top 10 finish is what we are aiming for,” said the 30-year old, who signed a two year deal with the club.
The team manager Augustin Munyandamutsa told Sunday Sport that the players will not be getting monthly salaries but will be given bonuses, though he didn’t specify the amounts.
"We are going to provide these players with everything from free education, accommodation, meals and bonuses for every match. But in the near future we shall give them professional contracts,” Munyandamutsa, who also owns SEC Academy said.
The club is also negotiating with Ugandan side Proline Academy to buy the duo of Andrew Buteera and Charles Tibingana.
Isonga begin their campaign against Amaguju this afternoon, before taking on Espoir on December 15 and then Mukura three days later.
