MUSANZE- District authorities should cultivate a strong partnership with members of the business community to promote investment ventures and address the existing challenges hindering private sector development.

This was one of the recommendations contained in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Private Sector Federation (PSF) and Musanze District, to foster cooperation in developing investment and micro business.

The partnership will facilitate the district business community to gain in terms of capacity building, especially in business skills, planning and discovering new opportunities.

The deal was signed at the weekend by the vice Mayor, Vincent Ndayambaje and  PSF Ag. Director in charge of capacity building, Betty Abatoni, in the presence of the business community.

 "There will be a permanent employee at the district to deal with issues of trade, investment, and attend to the problems of business people arising from policy implementation,” Abatoni said.

PSF and the business people toured a cement factory worth Rwf2 billion owned by Jean Baptista Nemeyabahizi, one of the prominent businesspersons in Musanze.

 The business community were called upon to diversify products, work in partnership and target a wider market outside the country especially within the East African Community.
